Headless Certification Authority (Headless CA)
Many internal resources use SSL certificates signed by Headless Certification Authority. Examples are GitLab, Jenkins and Redmine.
To avoid browser warnings about insecure connection, please download and install the root certificate for Headless Certification Authority, as described below.
- Download the file Headless_Root_CA_RSA_v2a.crt to your computer (right click, Save Link As...).
- Open the instruction "Guide to add self-generated root certificate authorities for 8 operating systems and browsers" (local copy of the page, in case the upstream page cannot be opened).
- Install the root certificate to Windows, Ubuntu, CentOS / RHEL, Firefox, Chrome on Linux
- To test it, visit https://headless.asatnet.net/ in Firefox / IE / Edge / Chrome, etc. You may have to close and re-open the browser after installing the certificate using the instruction above.
- To verify that the certificate is trusted system-wide on Linux works, run the command wget https://headless.asatnet.net/ . It should download the index page without any error.
